We draw on some of the images as inspiration to give you a headstart in planning your special themed day. You don't really want to go completely overboard, but it is a fun theme to use.
Venue:
Choose a sporting venue - like an indoor tennis/badminton/squash court for your venue. These venues are quite strict about heels etc on the ground and the line paintwork, so be sure to check all your do's and dont's with the venue.
If you live in a tropical country like Singapore/Malaysia, but want to use an outdoor venue, why not try a volleyball court, complete with nets. It could be a 'courting' game perhaps for the groom to woo the bride ;)
The Bling:

Decoration:
Use the five olympic ring as inspiration, or use your country's colors to decide on your theme. Or if you decide on a particular sport venue, then use all the accessories like racquets, balls, outfit, nets, caps etc as inspiration. This could feature in your wedding outfits too.
Cakes:
Use the Olympics as inspiration and design your cake. You could choose a whole cake and design it with the rings. Or concentrate on the medal tally or a particular sport.
Or you could stay on trend, and use cake pops and have a variety of designs on them. They add a fun element to your wedding, and will definitely be different.

oh! and don't worry if your wedding is a few months after the largest sporting event of 2012, you can always bring back the glory and refresh everyone's memory with the little details.
